Post Title: Institutional WASH Officer
Post Level: National Officer (NO-B)
Appointment Type: Temporary Appointment (364 days)
Post Location: Kathmandu
Your profile for the post:
• University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Sanitation Engineering, Social Sciences or a field relevant to international WASH in Schools or WASH in Health related development assistance. Additional training in Health Education or Communication for Development (Programme Communication), an asset.
• Two years of professional work experience in the UN or other international development organization or private sector. Familiarity with field work and experience working with government would be preferred. Background/ familiarity with Emergency preparedness and response (and the IASC Cluster approach).
• Functional Competencies: Planning and Organizing, Applying Technical Expertise, AnalyzIng„ Formulating Strategies and Concepts, Learning and Researching ( For details on UNICEF Competency framework, please visit: http://unicetorg.np/vacancies)
• The candidate must have excellent command of written and spoken English and Nepali.
• Demonstrated ability to work In a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
