Many students in Nepal dream about becoming an engineer. Engineering studies attracts quite a good number of Nepalese students every year.

In Nepal, there are quite a good number of colleges that offer engineering courses in various parts of the country.  Till date, most of the engineering students admitted in those colleges are from Nepal. Candidates, to be eligible for admission to the engineering colleges in Nepal, should at least pass the Intermediate in Science or diploma in engineering or its equivalent.

Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Civil and Rural Engineering are some of the popular engineering courses in Nepal. While the Bachelor in Architecture course is of 5 years duration, other bachelor degree courses are of 4 years duration. Some engineering colleges in Nepal also offer Masters and Ph.D courses.

After receiving an university degree in engineering, you need to be registered to Nepal Engineering Council(NEC) to work as an Engineer inside Nepal. NEC provides the engineers with the unique identity number(license) according to their field of engineering. In order to be registered to NEC, university degree must be from a university recognized by the council.
