Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programme Coordinator Morang Programme Unit, Morang
1 Position
This position has a direct line reporting to the Programme Unit Manager at Morang Programme Unit, Morang
Required qualifications & experiences:
• Masters Degree in Environmental/Public Health/Water and Sanitation Engineering or other relevant engineering field
• Minimum 4 years work experience in WASH and Constructions programmes/projects, particularly in I/NGOs
• Experience of dealing with partners, government offices and like-minded organisations
• Good understanding of contemporary development issues, activities and approaches
• Competencies in both spoken and written English and Nepali languages along with professional report writing skills
Key responsibilities:
• Develop quality community and schools based WASH
programme/projects, facilitate its implementation
• Initiate and
conduct feasibility study, design WASH projects ensuring these are
child, gender and disability friendly
• Work in close consultation with
WASH Coordinator, Country Office(CO) and technically support Programme Unit, partners and communities in planning, implementing, monitoring and
managing WASH programme/projects
• Ensure effective monitoring
accountability and knowledge sharing by visiting and reviewing
programme/project documents & reports
• Coordinate with all relevant
stakeholders at VDC and District level, facilitate partners, children
and community people to lead and implement the WASH processes to raise
their awareness level, and enhance the capacity to achieve the desired
results
• Support in development and timely implementation of WASH
specific disaster preparedness and response plan along with the
contingency plan in emergencies and post-conflict situations
