United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in Nepal is the overall organization responsible for coordinating safety and security for all United Nations Agencies, funds and programmes operating in Nepal. The goal of UN security management system is to enable effective and efficient conduct of UN activities while ensuring security, safety and well-being of staff a high priority. UNDSS operates in the entire country with main HQ located in Kathmandu.
The UNDSS Nepal is seeking for qualified, talented and result oriented candidates for following assignments:
Job title: Radio Telecommunications Associate

Contract type and level: Service Contact (SB3 Peg II)
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Key responsibilities: Under the overall guidance of the Security Advisor (SA) and the direct supervision of the Field Security Coordination Officer (FSCO), the incumbent renders advisory/supervisory/technical services on all emergency telecommunications matters for UN system in Nepal. The incumbent ensures that the UN Nepal Emergency Communications system functions effectively on a continuous and uninterrupted basis.
Required qualification and experience: Completion of Bachelor level degree in Telecommunications / Electronics / Electric. At least 3 years of professional experience in design, implementation, operations and maintenance of radio telecommunications networks is required. Knowledge and experience in providing technical support in a 24/7 emergency telecommunications environment is required. Experience in management of security communication in an international organization is preferred. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc). Fluency in written and spoken in English and Nepali languages.
