Engineering Jobs Vacancy @ CARE Nepal

CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 37 years. It currently works in 44 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls' leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.

CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for the following Short Term Positions (6 months initial with possibility of extension) in response to the current emergency situation we are faced in Nepal due to the Mega Earthquake. As a humanitarian organization CARE is providing immediate support in the affected areas and requires dynamic and committed individuals to help the organisation provide relief and response. 

1. WASH Engineer (based in Dhading, Lamjung and Sindupalchowk)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelors in Public Health Engineering or Civil Engineering with experience of implementing water and/or sanitation programs at the community level. Experience of working in Emergency Response is desirable. 

2. Shelter Technical Officer (based in Gorkha, Lamjung, Dhading and Sindupalchowk)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Structural or civil engineer (graduate with significant experience). Knowledge of masonry construction, experience of construction management & site management, experience of building design & seismic design & retrofitting. Experience of managing staff 

3. Shelter Technical Assistant (based in Gorkha, Lamjung, Dhading and Sindupalchowk)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Engineering graduate or skilled construction worker (preferably a mason). Knowledge of masonry construction. Experience of construction and site management. Good communication & community mobilisation capacity. Good ability to run training
