ORGUT serves as Management Contractor of the 5-year UNNATI programme operating in seven hill districts in the Eastern Development Region of Nepal. The Programme aims to develop selected agricultural commodity value chains using a market-based, inclusive growth approach complemented with district and farm to market road construction, access to finance, and an improved agricultural/agribusiness policy environment. The Management Contractor is responsible for the value chain and the infrastructure development in the seven districts covered by UNNATI.
ORGUT is now looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to be based in Kathmandu, with extensive travel to the project districts, for the remaining of the project period (December 2018).
The qualifications of the position include:
- Civil Engineer with minimum a Bachelor Degree
- At least 10 years of professional experience in rural infrastructure work (roads, water supply, irrigation and/or community infrastructure works)
- At least 3 years experience related to preparing contracts and other procurement related activities, including tenders and tender evaluation
- Skills to monitor and evaluate rural infrastructure works
- Skills to provide on-the-job and capacity building training
- Experience in quality control procedures for road construction
- At least 2-years experience in the use of labour based methods of road construction
- Good communication skills and Proficient in English: speaking, reading and writing
