Biomedical Engineer Vacancy @ Nick Simons Institute (NSI)

Nick Simons Institute (NSI) is an organization with a mission to train and support health care workers for rural Nepal. NSI reaches beyond training, and is supporting rural retention programs, as well as generally advocating for the status of the rural health care workers. NSI is partnering with National Health Training Centre (NHTC), the Department of Health Services (DoHs), Teku for a Biomedical Equipment Training (BMET) program, therefore seeks suitable candidate for the following position:
 
Title/Position : BMET Instructor
Duty Station : BMET, NHTC, Teku Kathmandu, with field visits
Minimum Required Competencies:
  • Bachelor Degree or above in Biomedical Engineering from recognized institution, with minimum of 3 years work experience in maintenance and repair work on a wide range of hospital equipment associated with Government or International Non-Government institutions.
OR
  • Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from recognized institution, with minimum of 5 years work experience in maintenance and repair work on a wide range of hospital equipment associated with Government or International Non Government institutions.
 
Application Deadline: 13 July 2014 by 17:00 hours.
Core Responsibilities:
(1) Teaching practical and theoretical classes on Biomedical equipment maintenance and repair
(2) Developing and improving training material
(3) Assist in maintenance and repair activities
(4) Continuing in learning about new areas in the field of Biomedical Equipment.
 
Language proficiency: Fluent of both English and Nepali
