Mercy Corps works in Nepal to strengthen protect and expand access to productive livelihood for the poor. Mercy Corps began operations in Nepal in 2005, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of economic and food security; climate change, natural resource and disaster risk management; youth engagement; with the inclusion of women and disadventaged groups as important cross-cutting themes throughout each intervention area.
Mercy Corps Nepal invites applications from interested candidates for the following position:
Project Engineer - 1 (Dhangadhi): The Project Engineer will be responsible for overall planning, designing, implementation and supervision of small scale structural mitigation work and ensure quality implementation within stipulated time and cost. The Project Engineer will work closely with District Coordinators in each target district(Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura and Baitadi). S/he will be responsible for building capacity of implementing partner staff(technical supervisor) for local partner and communities including assisting them in implementation of construction works. This will require development of training package and tools as required to the context of project districts.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree in civil engineering with experience of designing and implementing Bio-Engineering intervention, at least 3 years of experience of working in community-based approach/program, strong skill on training design and facilitation, high level of computer skills required, willingness to travel frequently to remote areas, competence riding a motorbike is required, ability to correspond well (written and verbal) in both English and Nepali.
