Civil Engineering Posts Vacancy - Community Based Flood and Glacial Lake Outburst Risk Reduction Project

Community Based Flood and Glacial Lake Outburst Risk Reduction Project (CFGORRP) is a joint initiative between The Government of Nepal (GON) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project is being implemented under National Execution/implementation Modality(NEX/NIM) by Department of Hydrology and Meteorology(DHM) under Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment(MoSTE) as the lead implementing Agency. To be part of this project team, applications are invited from interested and qualified candidates for the following positions:

1) Post Title: Technical Advisor (TA) - Component 2 (Flood) (NPPP-3)
No. of position: One
Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent travel to the districts
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)
Qualifications and experience required: Candidate should have at least Master's degree in Disaster Management, Hydrology, Flood/River Basin Management, Water Resource Management/River engineering or a related field with 7 years of working experience in Flood related projects with at least one successful research project on the impacts on floods, Flood Disaster Management, Water Resources Management or related field.Experience in GIS, Remote Sensing and Simulation of Flood/climate change would be an added advantage.

2) Post Title: District Project Coordinator (Civil Engineer) - Flood Management (NPPP-2)
No. of position: One
Duty Station: Project implementation districts (Udayapur, Siraha, Saptari and Mahottari)
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)
Qualifications and experience required: Candidate should have Master's degree in Engineering on river or flood management, water resources management or related field. The candidate should have at least 5 years of working experience in river management/Flood Risk Management with successful implementation of flood risk reduction activities. Experience in upstream downstream linkages for flood risk reduction would be an added advantage.
