National Technological Festival, LOCUS, organized every year at Pulchowk Campus,IOE is set to be held this year on the 14th, 15th and 16th of Asadh. The event is a collaboration of students of Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering.
Though the event is organized at Pulchowk Campus, participants from various other engineering and +2 colleges take part in the event. This event has been an excellent platform for the students to showcase their researches and innovations. Various competitions are held on hardware and software projects. In addition to this, various conferences, paper presentations and some entertaining events like 3D movie shows and gaming competitions are also organized.

If you are an enthusiast, you can witness, first-hand, the tech scene developing in Nepal with all the student projects, new gadgets, startups, and much more on exhibition. Every year, the event is based on a certain theme. This year, the event is based on the theme - 'Engineering the rural development'. According to the organizers, this theme aims to encourage and invite participants to work on products and innovative ideas that can change the rural development process towards betterment. For this, a theme based project competition will be held where anyone can participate with their hardware and software projects based on the theme. Likewise, there will be an open competition(not based on the theme) where participants can present their ideas and innovations without any limitation. Hardware and software projects will be judged separately for each of theme-based and open competitions. These competitions is said to be accompanied by different hackathons and code camps along with other side competitions.
