Oxfam is responding in these areas: Gorkha, Nuwakot, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. We are urgently looking for dynamic team players in the following position for our response programme.
Shelter Officers - 6 months fixed term contract based in Sindupalchowk, Nuwakot and Dhading.
Requirements: Suitable qualification in architecture / construction management / civil engineering or related field with at least 2 years' practical experience in humanitarian and reconstruction context. Proven practical experience with emergency and transitional shelters is required, along with a sound knowledge of the market prices and specifications of construction materials.
All candidates will have strong organization skills, ability to work effectively in a difficult environment and be flexible in demanding situations. You will have proficiency in English and good interpersonal and team working skills especially in emergency mode. Your commitment to the values of Oxfam including gender equity in all that we do is essential.
