URGENT VACANCIES: Senior Surveyors(Roads) and Engineering Geologist
Rural Access Programme — Phase 3 (RAP3) is a 4-year DFID funded programme operating in 14 Districts of Nepal. It aims to improve people's incomes and resilience through employment, sustainable access to markets and improved access to economic opportunities.
Due to limited remaining opportunities to complete key field works ahead of monsoon the Programme seeks applications for the following short-term field-based positions for immediate mobilisation:
1. Senior Surveyor(Roads) — new district road engineering survey in Humla / Mugu: up to 4 positions
a. Diploma in Civil Engineering or Junior Surveyor Training Course (pass), and
b. Preferably at least 5 years relevant experience in engineering survey works including significant use of Total Station and Digital Terrain Model techniques,
c. In special cases academic background may be offset by extensive additional years of practical experience.
d. Must be available to mobilise within one week of receiving an offer, likely mobilisation during last week of May.
2. Engineering Geologist(Roads) — new district road EIA / Design study in Humla/ Mugu: 1 position (provisional)
a. Degree in relevant science subject and Master's degree in related geological discipline,
b. Preferably at least 10 years experience since graduation in related activities including significant experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies,
c. Must be available to mobilise within one week of receiving an offer, likely mobilisation during last week of May.
The assignment is expected to start immediately and be on a short-term contract basis initially of about 3-4 weeks duration. RAP-3 offers an excellent package of remuneration commensurate with the required level of expertise.
