Rural Access Programme— Phase 3 (RAP3) is a 4-year DFID funded programme based in 14 Districts in Nepal. It aims to improve people's incomes and resilience through employment, sustainable access to markets and improved access to economic opportunities. Expected outputs include improved and sustainable access due to climate resilient rural transport infrastructure, road maintenance, upgrading and road/trail-bridge construction.
The Programme is in the process of adding staff to support its busy 2nd year programme and wishes to engage the following full-time field based staff:
1. Sub Asset Management Engineers (Road Maintenance) — various Districts (mid-Western, Central and Eastern)
To be considered for these posts candidates must possess a diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience since pass-out. Preference may be given to those with previous road asset management / maintenance experience.
The assigned technicians will report directly to the RAP3 District Team Leader and be responsible for a variety of tasks including road condition surveys, works measurement and detailing, road maintenance supervision including activities of Road Maintenance Groups (RMGs) and road construction supervison.
Assignments are expected to start from January 2015 and will be renewable annually. In the case of posts which are not immediately available RAP3 intends to maintain a database of qualified candidates who may be called upon at a later date.
