Executive Director Position Vacancy @ Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Fund Development Board

Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Fund Development Board (the Board) established on March 14, 1996 under the Development Board Act, 1956 is an autonomous body composed of seven board members and is implementing demand- led community based rural water supply and sanitation programs with participatory approach to bring about fundamental changes in the conventional supply oriented approach in water supply and sanitation sector in the country.
The Board through its secretariat headed by the Executive Director has been implementing the projects to promote cost-effective and sustainable development. Emphasis has also been accorded to social capital formation through mobilizing the communities during project cycle.
The Board is going to implement Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project (RWSSIP, 2014-2020) with financing of around US$ 90 million by International Development Association (IDA). Government of Nepal (GoN) and Communities. The Government of Nepal has ranked RWSSIP as highly prioritized (P1) project.
 
The Board invites qualified Nepalese citizens to apply for the following post:
 
1. Post: Executive Director -1
Educational Qualification: Master's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering or water resources engineering or social science or management from a recognized university.
Work Experience: At least ten years work experience in community based rural development or drinking water supply and sanitation related activities.

Applicants must not be convicted of any criminal case of moral turpitude and must not be directly affiliated with any political party. They must not be a relative of any of the Board members and the Board employees. They must include a statement to these effects in their applications. Those who are Government employees and civil servants of government-owned universities, academic and research institutes and any other government organizations will not be eligible to apply.
 
Terms of Employment: The initial term of employment will be 4 (Four) years on contract basis (including probation period of first six months) with possibility of extension on another 2 (two) years on satisfactory performance. Other provisions, terms and condi-tions of employment including salary, perk and other benefits will be as per the Board Rules. The candidate selected for appointment must submit a letter of approved resignation from the previous employer if the individual is employed at another organization.
 
Duty Station: The post is Kathmandu Valley based. The post holder will be required to undertake time to time traveling to districts outside Kathmandu Valley.

The CV should distinctly show the number of years of previous relevant experience and the tasks performed emphasizing the appli-cants' own contributions/achievements. Documentary evidence of the relevant experience is essential.
Selection Procedure: Only responsive candidates, meeting the minimum qualification and experience, will be evaluated applying a marking system weighted according to the importance or the experience relevant to the assignment. A limited number of candidates will be short-listed based on the evaluation rank order for final selection process that includes presentation and interview. The Board's decision will be final in the process of ED recruitment. Undue influence will result in automatic rejection.
