Rural Village Water Resources Management Project (RVWRMP) Phase II works for improved water supply, sanitation, micro-hydro, community-based irrigation, livelihoods and other rural development initiatives in 73 VDCs in ten districts of Mid and Far Western Nepal (Achham, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, Dailekh, Doti, Darchula, Humla and Kailali districts). RVWRMP is supported by the Government of Nepal and the Government of Finland, and the executing agency is MoFALD/DoLIDAR together with Project DDCs and VDCs. The current phase ends on 31 July 2015. RVWRMP Phase II now invites applications from qualified Nepalese citizens for the following posts:
Position: Water Resources Officers (Engineers)
Duty Station: in any of the project districts
Required Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering
- Registered in Nepal Engineering Council
Professional Experiences:
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in rural water supply, sanitation, water resources management, irrigation or renewable energy technologies.
- Experience in participatory planning/working at community level.
- Experience in working with local bodies (DDC, VDC) and other field level partners (NGOs, line agencies etc)
- Experience in sanitation sector, ODF activities and donor funded project management and administration is an asset.
Major Responsibilities:
- Technical support to schemes including design, supervision, preparation of (electronic) MBs and Water Safety Plans.
- Monitor GESI aspects systematically in regular scheme monitoring
- Ensure climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and related risks are addressed in the scheme planning, support in water quality related activities and Water Safety Plan implementation.
