The Renewable Energy for Rural Livelihood (RERL) is a joint programme of the GoN/AEPC and UNDP/GEF. In continuation to UNDP's support to the energy sector and UN's commitment towards ensuring universal access to modern energy services. UNDP Nepal as well as the GON/AEPC has agreed to extend the partnership in this sector to scale up decentralized energy systems for better linkages with the enterprise development and livelihood enhancement. The RERL will operate within the broader framework of National Rural Renewable Energy Programme(NRREP) of AEPC and aims to provide support particularly in mini hydro, large solar PV, productive end-uses and renewable energy financing contribute to economic, environmental and social benefits of the rural people by removing barriers that have hindered the wider use of renewable energy resources in rural Nepal.
RERL is seeking for qualified, talented and result oriented candidates for following assignments:
Post Title: Senior National Advisor (SNA) -NPPP 4
No. of position: 1
Duration: Post valid for the entire duration of the project
Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent travel to the districts
Required qualifications and experiences: Completion of Master's degree in Renewable Energy or other related fields with Bachelor's degree in Engineering. At least 10 years of working experience preferably in renewable energy with at least 3-5 years of successful managerial experience. Relevant experiences of working with government agencies and financial institution & Working experience with bilateral and multi-lateral development agencies, particularly UNDP, will be an asset. Experience on planning, monitoring and evaluation of community based projects will be an added advantage. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages. Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English is required.

Post Title: Mini-Hydro Expert (MHE) -NPPP 2

Preference will be given to candidates with working experience in mini-hydro, other renewable energy and productive end use related development works in Nepal. The candidate should have relevant experiences of working with government agencies and financial institutions. Experience on planning, monitoring and evaluation of community based projects will be an added advantage. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages. Experience on planning, monitoring and evaluation of community based project will be an added advantage. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages.Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English is required.
