Karnali Employment Programme (KEP) is a programme executed by the Ministry of Federal Affair and Local Development to provide employment to at least one unemployed family member in every household in the five districts of Kamali. KEP is an important component of the Government of Nepal's social protection strategy and aims to deliver public works programs and livelihoods improvement projects in a way that reduces poverty and vulnerability and reaches the left out poor. It is implemented through the VDC and DDCs of the Karnali districts. Currently, a Technical Assistance service through KEP-TA is being provided to support effective implementation of the Programme.
The KEPTA is looking for 2 technical personnel, one each for Jumla and Kalikot. The candidate shall have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of field based experience or Diploma in Civil Engineering with around 8 years of experience. The experience shall be in planning, survey, design and construction supervision of a range of community infrastructures. Those familiar with use of survey instruments and having work experience in Karnali districts or similar remote locations will be preferred.

The duration of this position will initially be for 3 months starting from 15 April 2014 with strong likelihoods for longer term extension in Phase II of the project starting from July onwards.
